GV Hospice is proud to annouce that it has met all 20 of the benchmarks in the most recent Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) Report, a remarkable achievement that exceeds the national community average of meeting 7 of the 20 benchmarks defined by PCOC.
This exceptioal performance highlights the dedication and commitment of our staff and volunteers to provide the highest quality of palliative care in our community. Meeting all benchmarks is a rare accomplishment in the sector, particularly in community based settings. The benchmarks measure the quality of palliative care delivered to patients and families including pain management, symptom control and timely delivery of care, all essentials for enhancing the comfort and dignity of patients.
“A deep commitment to the providion of quality palliative care over time has seen the GV Hospice team achieve this extraordinary result. The Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) is a national outcome and benchmarking program federally funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care, participation is voluntary and GV Hospice has steadily improved over time, and we congratulate them on these patient outcomes. GV Hospice is always willing to share their knowledge with other palliative care clinicians to support better outcomes for patients and carers.” – Kylie Draper, Improvement Facilitator PCOC.
“Our team is proud to be recognised in this way and for the work we’ve done to support increasing numbers of patients and their families during one of the most challenging times in their lives,” said CEO Wendy Ross. “Exceeding expectations in all areas of the PCOC report is a testament to the skill, compassion and dedication of our staff and the partners we work with”.
