Historical Society of Mooroopna Museum & Gallery

When: Wednesday May 20th from 10:00am – 11:00am
Where: 30 Park Street, Mooroopna VIC 3629

The Historical Society of Mooroopna’s Museum and Gallery is a hidden gem, tucked in behind the old Mooroopna Hospital. Housed in former nursing home, this museum is home to the largest historical medical collection in Regional Victoria.

The museum is vast, with many rooms and hallways full of interesting historic artefacts, so be sure to leave plenty of time when coming to explore this wonderful gallery. Highlights include a haunting archaic operating theatre, patient’s rooms, nurse’s uniforms and doctors’ medical apparatus, along with a dentist’s chair, that all serve as a reminder of just how far modern medicine has progressed. The museum also documents the fascinating local, social, industrial, agricultural and horticultural history of the Greater Mooroopna area.
